Dear Mums and Friends,
Pacanow Children’s Day 2009
There are a few things to report on this time.
1. Summer holiday.
a) Thank you to 15 families (Especially to Maarit Salonen for attracting 8 of them) who responded to my request to donate 1% tax returns to Pro Bono II Foundation. 16 kids, ages from 8 to 14, will go for a 2 weeks seaside holiday on the 4th of July. You can imagine their excitement! b) I passed to the director of the orphanage sister Adwenia PLN 2000. Here I would like to say a big thank you to Katharina Laungaard who worked very hard to raise PLN 1,200 from her family, friends and colleagues from Denmark. These funds will be used to buy shoes and swimming outfits and other needed things for the holiday. The remaining funds from Sigrid Bresgen, Katarzyna Kremzer-Kozlowska and my family I asked to use on various attractions and treats.
2. Childrens’ Day. We spent a very long happy Children’s Day in Pacanow on the 30th of June. a) It was the most wonderful thing to watch the kids having such a fun by throwing balls and frisbees, flying kites, swishing on skate boards, making glittering tattoos, playing badminton and ping pong, sharing sweets and blowing bubbles! b) As it was just one car with all our 3 children, we were not able to deliver everything that has been kindly given by you. However, we fitted the most important things such as
-a big television and a small television
- 3 computers
- Fisher Price laptop toy for the little ones
-a bike
- a big truck
- the latest fashion football outfits for all boys
- a big bag of swimming pool/play pen balls
- handbags and racksacks
- summer cloths and some shoes
- books and some toys
- towels, curtains, linen
- jewelry and cosmetics
- small things for art classes
3. M&T Christmas Bazaar proceeds. I was reported that so far PLN 400 was used for the needs of the older children who had left the orphanage last and earlier this year. Remaining PLN 3000 are still being kept for future needs.

Regretfully, older children were not there due to being on work practice or school trips. On the other hand it gave us a chance to spend more time with the younger ones and we enjoyed it immensely. Siennica orphanage named after mother Veronika, ul. Szkolna 2, 05-332, Siennica. Thank you for your generosity by giving big items like furniture, televisions, fridges, supplies of cloths, household things, toys. A van came 3 times and there will probably be another 2 trips in June to collect everything being given for the needs of the orphanage itself and poor families of the village. I cannot give you photos of these children at the moment, as I have not yet had a chance to visit this place personally.
