Dear Mums,
On the 15th of August I with my husband Richard and our 3 children visited the Pacanow orphanage.
Thank you to those of you who gave money (6) and presents for the beginning of a school year (3).
Additionally I would like to express special thanks to Ambra Dickie, Gulce Isoglu, Katharina Laungaard
and her family and friends who donated bigger amounts than called. Having added PLN300 from the
M&T charity pot and funds from my family we bought school related things for the total amount of PLN
2000.
At first I was thinking about just dropping in there on the way to Krakow to leave a few boxes of school
things and donations like cloths, household staff, toys, etc. However, when Eithne Gibbons volunteered to
make a personal package for one of the girls, I thought it would be really unfair to others. I also feel that
children really would love to have their own little things, let be small but own. So in the end we delivered
37 good size individual packages, including 5 for the adopted kids by the Dziekan family. Two days prior
to the planned trip a big amount came from Katharina Laungaard’s friends and family. So I had to rush to
the shops and buy racksacks for younger ones and more needed things for the older ones which tend to
be more expensive. Of course, all the things given by mums since June such as cosmetics, toys,
jewellery, mugs, photo frames, soft toys, cars, blocks, other were added depending on the ages and
interests. Some things we could not fit into the car, so I am keeping those until next trip in January.
A big surprise for me was that the parcel I sent back in July with DVDs/videos/cds and books after raising
PLN 400 at the summer bazaar was not open, as the director had been out. So we opened it as well and
kids were jumping up and down trying to make up their minds which film to watch first.
We also handed an IKEA blue piggy bank which my kids had fun filling with coins. That was for a special
ice cream treat! Whilst having a cup of tea, children told us about their wonderful summer holidays by the

seaside and how they learnt to swim and other fun they had. Thank you once again to all of you who
gave 1% of your taxes to Pro Bono II Foundation, it was worth it.
We spent a lovely weekend in the area. Some places to mention are:

- and, of course, Krakow. We stayed at Amadeus, it is very close to the centre and nice.
