Dear Mums and Friends,
Pacanów Easter 2009
Children – 44
- 35 orphanage
- 9 Dziekan family.
A few years ago they having their own 4 children adopted 5 from the
orphanage
Mums and Friends - 32
- 14 bought new things and/or sweets
- 11 gave used things
- 7 did both + I do not know how many friends of Nuray Ganioglu
Once again we have made these Pacanów children very happy by giving to them very special
Easter treats. Thanks to you being so generous, I was able to put together quite a big package for
each kid. It was a combination of some brand new things for fun and pleasure, used games/toys,
books/school things and sweets. All girls were thrilled by their cosmetics, jewellery and hair
decorations. All boys had sport things and cars. I did my best to be fair to all children in terms of
the number of items and values given.
In addition, older 6 children leaving the orphanage received their big packages of the most
needed household things. Out of the list of the most important 18, lots were again given by many
of you. New things were bought for PLN 1050 from the parents of the Nursery K class, The
British School of Warsaw.
Also for the needs of the orphanage we were able to deliver:
- a cot with bedding for a new one year old boy
- a computer for all
- a set of a small table with chairs for younger ones
- a variety of school art things, books, games for all
- a wide selection of Fisher Price and Little Tikes toys, play dough, Lego blocks for younger
ones
- lots and lots of nice cloths for all sort of ages and sizes
Thank you to Ambra Dickie and Helen McGuire who helped with collecting things.
A big thank you to Katharina Laungaard’s husband Lars who drove the second car. He
volunteered to go instead of Katharina when little Sophie had fallen ill. Also thanks to Conch
Tiuson–Yao, her husband and 2 children, who came to join us on Saturday morning but
eventually there was no need, as we managed to fit everything into the 2 big cars.
Please see the photos following this link. You can put all on a slide show and click Info to see
children’s names and comments. Regretfully, 8 children were not there to take parcels personally
